It is a mission of our organization to develop stronger ties amongst the South Asian community. Activities sponsored by GW SAS encourage exploration of the South Asian culture and serving the community. Annually, SAS strives to support and work with a charity to help support their mission.

This year, proceeds made from Raas Chaos 2009 will go to benefit a charity. More information regarding the charity will be provided shortly. The George Washington University’s South Asian Society is proud to announce that all proceeds made from Raas Chaos will go to READ Global. READ Global is a new non-profit organization that focuses on education and development in India, Nepal and Bhutan. The READ model focuses on enhancing rural villages’ capabilities, not replacing them. They work closely and respectfully with local villagers to leverage their assets and talents to meet their specific educational, community, and employment needs.
